Comment opens on Phase 1 station siting

Comment is open on the six Phase 1 station locations and closes on 30 September.

The locations under consideration are Virginia Avenue, Ponce de Leon, Freedom Parkway, Krog Street, DeKalb Avenue and Memorial Drive. All six were set after the 2024 open houses and revised once. The current siting is the one described in Technical Memorandum 04.

Comment can be sent in writing or said out loud at any community meeting. Both carry the same weight. We read all of it and we answer the ones that ask us something, which is usually about half.

What is useful: where you live relative to a station, what you would use it for, and what specifically you think is wrong with the location. What is less useful, though we understand the impulse, is a general statement of support. The number of people who support this is already established and it is on the front page.

The Coalition’s board reviews the Phase 1 recommendation on 13 October, and the recommendation will reflect what comes in over the next seven weeks. Meeting materials are published a week ahead.

The next community meeting is on 12 November, southeast segment, and we will bring the visual simulations.
